COVID-19: ¿Qué hacer si estoy en cuarentena y sufro violencia intrafamiliar?
A raíz de la propagación del COVID-19 (Coronavirus) se declaró Estado de Catástrofe nacional y en diferentes comunas del país se ha establecido cuarentena obligatoria. Sin embargo, tener que estar gran parte del día en el hogar puede resultar muy riesgoso para víctimas de violencia intramiliar.
Desde el 1 de enero al 31 de marzo de 2020, en Chile, se registraron 10 femicidios consumados y 26 femicidios frustrados, de acuerdo a cifras del Ministerio de la Mujer y Equidad de Género.
El organismo gubernamental ha señalado que mantendrá su funcionamiento con turnos y que también lo seguirán haciendo las casas de acogida con que se cuentan en el país.
¿Qué se puede hacer frente a esta situación?
“El llamado es a tener precaución y considerar que más allá de estar en una cuarentena voluntaria o decretada por las autoridades sanitarias o de gobierno, siempre podemos buscar resguardo en los lugares competentes y ante las autoridades que correspondan”, comenta Begoña Farías, abogada de Grupo Defensa.
La especialista recalca que las víctimas de violencia intrafamiliar pueden denunciar a Carabineros de Chile (133 o 149), a la PDI (134) y también a otros números asociados a la orientación en casos de violencia a la mujer, como el 1455.
Farías señala que a pesar de la situación de contingencia los tribunales de familia siguen operando. “El tribunal de familia está haciendo turnos para tomar aquellas audiencias que sean de mayor gravedad y que obviamente necesiten de una medida de protección, la dictación de una medida cautelar o una resolución de carácter inmediato, como son las causas de Violencia intrafamiliar o casos en que se vulneren los derechos de las niñas, niños y adolescentes”.
Aunque no se descarta que el Poder Judicial adopte otras medidas con el paso de los días y según la contingencia.

La abogada explica que frente a este tipo de situación es clave buscar apoyo de nuestro círculo cercano:
“Si vamos a resguárdanos en nuestros hogares ojalá hacerlo en lugares donde estemos mayormente protegidas. Si estoy en una situación de conflicto familiar, de muchas peleas con mi pareja, es mejor que estos días lo pase en casa de un familiar, evitando el contacto con los grupos de riesgo, como los adultos mayores, personas inmunodeprimidas o niños muy pequeños”.
Incluso, si no se cuenta con familiares buscar a otras personas, como vecinos o algún amigo en que se confíe.
“En el contexto que vivimos no sólo es importante cuidar nuestra salud biológica, sino que también nuestra salud mental. Esto pasa por tomar conductas de resguardo, evitar el contacto con la persona que eventualmente me está agrediendo, que está desplegando conductas atentatorias en contra de mi integridad física o psíquica”, explica Farías.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids.
